According to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, the latest passport introduced has enhanced features which will make it easier for security management.

He concluded that the government is in the process of producing the passport locally because the Nigeria Minting Company will take over the production in due course.

The price of the new passport is relatively expensive: Putting the price tag of the 64 Pages at NGN70,000, will surely make it unpopular in the country, unless there is artificial scarcity (which is unfortunate) most people in the country will not go for it, despite the huge welcome and popularity the news was received when President Muhammadu Buhari launched the 10 years validity passport.

The 64 Pages is for frequent travellers. Before you make payment ask if the passport office is having booklets. How fast your passport will come out depends on the availability of booklets.

We actually paid way higher than the normal rate-#45,000 precisely. Now the issue is, she has done her capture but for almost two weeks now, we were told that her own case still needs approval from Abuja which is why its taking time to be ready. This is as against the information that the officer gave us that it will be ready within a day or 2 at most. What could be the issue or what advice would you give on this case?
Please exercise patience. Your passport will soon be ready. Ignore any officer sugar coted talking. He is not sincere. And do not part with funds again. Having done the capturing, nothing will stop the issuance of the passport, provided there is no double acquisition.

My wife & I got captured on d 27th of December, 2017 but my kids were not captured that day as d officer said theirs cannot be processed until my own international passport is obtained. Foremost, it is true thatthe data page of your passport may be used as a supporting documents for the issuance of your children’s passports hence the need to get your passport out.
However, it’s strange to process passports for 8 months.
If what you’re saying is true, please proceed immediately to that passport office, request to see the passport control officer (PCO) or his second in command. Show them whatever papers given to you on the day you captured. It is your right to know why the passport is not out.
