This is to remind all intend travellers especially frequent visitors to the Kingdom of Oman, that Oman is operating a new visa system from March 21, 2018.
According to a recent announcement by Royal Oman Police, the Kingdom is  operating a new procedure which entails that all foreigners travelling to Oman must apply in advance for a tourist visa online, and receive approval before setting out to Oman.

The usual practice of obtaining a visa on arrival (VOA) at the airport or border post will seize to operate.
Henceforth application for tourist visas, including express visas, can only be made online by visiting: http://evisa.rop.gov.om. Visa is no longer obtainable at the port visa service desks.

THE POLICY STATEMENT BY ROYAL OMAN POLICE

The Directorate of Public Relations Royal Oman Police, hereby announces that as from Wednesday, March 21, 2018 application for a tourist visa and express visa will only be made online through Royal Oman Police site: evisa.rop.gov.om and will not be received at the visa service desks.

These are the steps to follow in processing and obtaining an Evisa.

1. APPLICATION.
Download the visa application form by visiting the Royal Oman Police website: www.rop.gov.om
– Fill in the travel documents details as requested in the boxes.

SECOND STEPS
PAYMENT OF FEES.
Pay the visa application fees by credit/debit cards through the Sultanate of Oman ‘s official e-payment portal.

 

THIRD STEPS
RECEIVING THE EVISA APPROVAL NOTE
– Applicants will receive the evisa approval note by email.
– Print out the evisa approval note and present it to the passport officer on arrival at the airport or border.

 

 

PROCEDURE OF COMPANY REGISTRATION IN THE EVISA SYSTEM

1. Visit the following site: evisa.rop.gov.om
2. Register as a user.
3. Request an authorisation as a representative of your company.
4. Enter the system using your email (user name and password)
5. Update the employer’s registration and request. The activation of the company’s registration.

 

STILL ON OMAN TO INTRODUCE NEW VISA SYSTEM 

NEW TOURIST VISA FEE.
The tourist visa fee is increased from 5 Omani Rials (Dh47)
To 20 Omani Rials (Dr188)
VALIDITY OF THE FEES.
It is valid for stay up to one month. As announced by the Royal Oman Police website.

 

OBTAINING EVISA

To obtain evisa visitors must register with username and password and then select the type of visa before payment.

The main advantage is to help travellers avoid long queues at the visa counters at the airport or border.
It also makes it easier for visitors, hotels and tour operators to book travelling visas for guests.

 

NON-SPONSORED E-VISA 

Finally, the following countries are now free to visit Oman on a non – sponsored E-visa. India, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Albania, Uzbekistan, Iran, Panama, Bhutan, Bosnia, Peru, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Maldives, Georgia, Honduras, Salvador, Tajikistan, Guatemala, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Costa Rica, Laos, Mexico and Nicaragua.

The move is aimed at boosting tourism revenues.
