This is the way to apply for a Nigeria Tourist or Visiting visa

Please read the instructions carefully to be conversant with the visa application procedure.

1. Visit online the Nigeria Immigration Service portal: http//portal.immigration.gov.ng and download the visa application form.

2. Start the filling of the visa form by select ‘Visa’

3. The next step is to select ‘country’  – that’s where the visa application form will be submitted.

4. Fill in your details.

5. Proceed to pay online with a debit or credit card.

6. Print out the payment slip and acknowledgement receipt.

7. Go back to the website: http://portal.immigration.gov.ng

8. Locate application status.

9. Click on the application payment status.

10. Select visa at dropdown

11. Enter application identity number and reference number.

12. Scroll down to print the visa payment slip and acknowledgement slip on the page

Finally, crosscheck if payment has been approved.

STILL ON NIGERIA VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR UK CITIZENS

THE STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR ISSUANCE OF NIGERIA TOURIST AND VISITORS VISA

1. Your international valid for at least six months with unused visa pages.

2. One recently acquired passport sized photograph with white background (you need to write your names at the back) Let it be 35 mm by 45 mm sized. Please do not fix the photographs to your application.

3. Print out the following documents:

– Your completed uploaded form is duly signed by you.

–  Confirmed payment.

– Visa acknowledgement slip

4. Photocopies of vaccinations against Yellow Fever Certificate and COVID-19 Certificates.

5. All foreign resident of a country where the application is made must present their valid residence card.

6. A typed statement or Self-introductory letter requesting a Tourist Visa.

7. If you’re visiting a friend or relation you must present a letter of invitation from your host.

8. Letter of introduction from your organization, stating your designation and proof of leave.

9. Basic travelling allowance sufficient to cover your entire stay in Nigeria

10. Confirmed hotel reservation.  Include a copy of the hotel employer’s identification card.

11. Unaccompanied underage persons travelling alone should present a letter of consent,  signed by both parents.  The parents should attach the photocopies of the data page of their passports. In addition, the underage person must present his or her birth certificate. Please note that the letter of consent must be signed and sealed by a Notary Public.

12. Finally, the visa applicant must present a confirmed airline booking, indicating the arrival and departure dates from Nigeria.

After the compilation of the required documents,  you have to present them to the Visa Application Centre.

1. In some Nigeria Foreign missions, an applicant can drop off the completed Visa application documents at a designated and at a particular time of the week.

2. In some other places such as the UK and Ireland a visa applicant is expected to appear in person at the  Visa Application Centre to do the biometric data, specifically fingerprints to commence the application process.

3. Please ensure that all the documents and information you’re presenting are completed before final submission to avoid visa rejection.

4. Finally,  please note that once you hand over the application at the Visa Application Centre, visa processing is not refundable.

This is the second most popular visa at various Nigerian missions. The business visas are issue to any foreign applicants who intend to travel to Nigeria for business-oriented trips, such as Meetings, Conferences, Seminars, Contract Negotiations and signings, Marketing,  Sales,  Purchase and Distribution of items,  Food Fairs, Job Interviews,  Training of Nigerians.

It is important to note that the Nigerian government has eased the visa processes for a foreign business person who intends to travel to Nigeria for business transactions.

Equally the processing of the Nigeria business visa is done online, thereby eliminating time wastage at various Nigeria embassies around the world.

These how to process the Nigeria business visa

The letter of invitation should take the following pattern:

– Addressed to the Nigeria High Commission, UK

– Be on the company/organization letterhead.

– Indicates clearly that the company will take full immigration responsibility for the Visa applicant.

– Indicates clearly the true nature of all business activities during your entire stay in Nigeria.

– Indicates how long the person is going to stay in Nigeria.

– Provide evidence of a copy of the company’s certificate of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

– Provide an original introduction letter from your organization,  indicating your designation, the reason for your visit and the duration of your absence from the company.

– A confirmed airline return ticket. – Photocopy of the data page of your host’s international passport or National Identity card.

SELF SPONSORED BUSINESSMAN/WOMAN

If you’re a businessman or woman and you desire to come to Nigeria, you don’t necessarily need a letter of invitation. Provided you have enough funds for your trip, you can apply as a self-sponsored business/woman for a business visa, if you have funds that are sufficient for your entire stay in Nigeria at your disposal, you’re qualified to obtain a business visa.

After the compilation of all the necessary documents, the applicant must take them to the Nigerian embassy.

1. Please note that in some Nigeria Foreign missions, an applicant can drop off the Visa application at a designated location and at a particular time of the week.

2. In some places such as the UK and Ireland,  a visa applicant is expected to appear in person at the visa application centre to provide biometric data specifically fingerprints as part of the application process.

3. Please ensure all the documents and information required are completed before handing over, to avoid visa rejection.

4. Importantly, please note that once an application has been submitted or sent by courier to the Visa Application Centre, visa processing fees are not refundable.

STILL ON NIGERIA VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR UK CITIZENS

TEMPORARY WORK PERMIT (TWP)

A temporary work permit is specially designed for those foreign experts coming to carry out specialised work for a short term. For example, if a company or an individual based in Nigeria purchased a machine or pieces of equipment from abroad,  he can send for technical support from the place of purchase or from another country to come and install the pieces of equipment.

The technician or Engineer will apply for a temporary work permit through the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service to enter and stay in the country for a short term.

These are the requirements for the issuance of a temporary work permit:

– An original letter of approval from the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service

– A letter of invitation from the host company indicating the functions or installation the expert is coming to perform.

– Your international passport with at least six months validity.

– A printout copy of the completed visitors’ visa application form.

– Two recently taken passport sized photographs.

After the compilation, you should take them to the embassy for visa processing. Remember,  the visa fees for TWP is the same as other fees.

 

WORK VISA – SUBJECT TO REGULARIZATION (STR)

Anyone coming to Nigeria to work is expected to obtain a work visa. The work visa is officially called subject to regularization:

These are the requirements for the issuance of an STR visa

– Your international passport with at least six months validity

– Completed visa application form in quadruplicate

– Four copies of your Letter of employment and Acceptance of offer from your prospective employer.

– Four copies of Expatriate quota approval issued by the Ministry of Interior obtain from the company or organisation employing you,

– Four copies of your details Curriculum vitae (CV)

– Four copies of your credentials and certificates verified by an appropriate official of Nigeria Nigeria EMBASSY

– Four recently taken passport sized photographs

– Receipt of visa fees issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service and VISA acknowledgement receipt

– You can use the receipt to download the Visa application form

After the collation of the above-mentioned documents, you fill in your details on the form and append your signature.

Finally, you have to submit the documents to the Visa Application Centre

If the STR visa is approved you will receive a large sealed envelope address to the Comptroller of Immigration Service. Do not open it and when travelling to Nigeria make sure it is in your hand luggage because you must show it to immigration officers at the point of entry for confirmation,

Furthermore, the envelope will be used to process your residence permit.
