STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO GET YOUR POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

After your visa has been granted and every other preparation is in progress, it is important you know that it is a best practice to immediately go into opt-in for your police clearance certificate, here we will be giving you a step by step order to follow to get your certificate.

THERE ARE  THREE WAYS YOU CAN APPLY FOR NIGERIA  POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE/REPORT.  

METHOD ONE

The first method is an application directly from the criminal registry Alagbon in Lagos, this method is majorly for people in Nigeria or people staying close to Lagos. This does not mean if you are not in Nigeria currently you cannot apply, just wait till we get to that method.

Address to this police station: Central Criminal Registry, Force C.I.D,  Alagbon Close, Ikoyi,

Lagos, Nigeria. From any direction, take a bus/taxi to Obalende, onwards Alagbon Close. 

When you get to the station, any policemen you see politely tell him or her you want to apply for the certificate of clearance. A form will be given to you after you must have paid the stipulated amount given to you, fill it with any of the black or blue pen and not red pen. Attach your passport photograph to this month. Take your time to fill this form. After you submitted you will be taken to a forensic officer to carry out a fingerprint scan and face capture and other biometrics data that needed to be documented. After that, your biometrics will be searched on the record with the CID after you are found free, your clearance certificate will be issued to you even though this might take hours. Note you can also get this done in all the state command of police all over Nigeria.

METHOD TWO

This is applying via the Nigeria police website.  The first thing to do here is to visit the police website for this, www.npf.gov.ng/character/index.php in any of your browser either opera mini or firefox. After taking you to the page of this application, the first thing you do is register with your last name and first name, your valid email, your phone number. After filling this, click on register, after this application ID will be provided to you. Check through the page on the left side provide your email and the generated ID that was given to you in course of registration then click on the login button.

After this you will be welcome with a message and you will see a place that was written “CLICK HERE TO PROCEED” after clicking on this you will be redirected to a page where you will be asked to provide the following, your middle name, first name,  last name, phone number, date of birth, local government, sex, marital status, place of birth, your national identity management commission, bank account number, your job description, state.

After this upload your international passport bio-data page. After this print out the provided information page given to you then take it to any state command for forensic analysis.

METHOD THREE

This is for Nigerian citizen outside the country, you can obtain your police clearance certificate in any of the Nigeria embassy in your country of residence.
